The 8th studio album of the symphonic/gothic metal outfit Coronatus offers a few novelties: For the first time ever the band is going to release a concept album about nature mysticism which features 9 songs in total. The album title quot;Secrets Of Naturequot; already implies that most lyrics will be in English; 6 of the 8 original songs are indeed with English lyrics which will most likely please the band s international fans. But Coronatus were always fond of multilingualism and particularly of the German language. That s why you ll also find the songs quot;Die Seequot; und quot;Tränen Des Himmelsquot; on the album. The album is completed by the unique cover version of the medieval traditional song quot;Herr Manneligquot; featuring the original Swedish lyrics. All original songs were written by band founder Mats Kurth with the exception of quot;Dance Of The Satyrquot; which was written by his 17 y/o son Max. This album is almost a family affair since Mats wife Kristina Jülich has played the violin on quot;Secrets Of Naturequot. There are also some musical changes noticeable: Most songs now feature more choral parts. The band apparently focused on a catchy sound without sounding trivial. The fantastic orchestral arrangements by Dennis Schwachhofer are once again featured on the album. He already worked with the band on the previous album quot;Raben I m Herzquot. The previous doctrine of featuring two kinds of female vocals - a rock voice as well as a classic soprano voice - was broken by adding male vocals from time to time which were contributed by Teddy Möhrke (Tales Of Nebelheim) - for example on quot; The Little People Of Icelandquot; and quot; The Hunterquot. The soprano parts by Carmen Lorch were complemented by vocalist Gaby Koss (ex-Haggard Cantus Lunaris) who is now featured on a Coronatus album for the very first time. The rock voice parts are once again sung by Mareike Makosch (Sister Zero Illuminate) who was already featured on quot;Terra Incognitaquot; and quot;Recreatio Carminisc.).
